The Supco EM60 dual-input digital differential thermometer with probes is for use in applications requiring a broad range of temperature measurements including superheat measurements, food service applications, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system maintenance. When using a K-type thermocouple, it measures temperature from -200 to 1300 degrees C (-328 to 2372 degrees F). When using a J-type thermocouple, it measures temperature from -200 to 1200 degrees C (-328 to 2192 degrees F). It has a best accuracy of + or - 0.1% of reading + 0.7 degree C (1.4 degrees F). The thermometer accepts K-type thermocouple probes, which have a broader temperature measurement range than a thermistor sensor but provide lower accuracy, or J-type probes, which provide higher accuracy but have a narrower temperature measurement range than a K-type probe. This dual-channel thermometer has two inputs for connecting temperature probes (two probes are included), allowing the operator to measure the temperature of two samples at one time. The LCD screen can display the current temperature measurement for either input channel as well as the difference between the two channels. It can also display the highest or lowest temperature reading for a session. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. The thermometer's internal memory can record up to five sets of minimum, maximum, and differential temperature data for future recall. The hold function keeps a measurement on the display so it can be recorded. The operator can set high and low temperature alarms to sound when measurements exceed or drop below the preset limits. The thermometer operates on three AAA batteries (included), and the thermometer will automatically turn off after 20 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. A low-battery indicator alerts the operator when the batteries need to be replaced. Two K-type wire probes are included with the thermometer. A lanyard is included to help protect against accidental drops, and a sensor cover helps protect the inputs from debris.
Specifications
*H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.
Digital thermocouple thermometers measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Thermocouple thermometers are composed of two conductors of different metals, usually alloys of the same metal, which touch at the sensor end of the thermometer. The difference in conductivity between the two metal pieces produces a voltage flow between the sensor end and the open end of each conductor, which can be used to determine the temperature. Different alloys are used for different temperature ranges. Thermocouple thermometers are used in applications that require a large temperature range and do not require a high degree of accuracy. These thermometers are used in kilns, turbine exhaust systems, and furnaces.
Supco manufactures test instruments and replacement parts for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The company, founded in 1945, is headquartered in Allenwood, NJ.
